The Casa

Welcome from Bob and Caroline!
Your hosts, Bob and Caroline

Bob and Caroline, your hosts, have been traveling throughout the Yucatan since the 1980’s. Casa Carolina is the culmination of many years of planning and attention to detail.  The best of what the Yucatan offers has been brought to this Xcalak resort, in both structure and décor.

The four guestrooms at Casa Carolina all have balconies facing the Caribbean.  Three of the rooms have queen-size beds.  One room has a full-size bed and a twin bed.

A room at Casa Carolina - perfect for a relaxing vacationEat In or Dine Out

At Casa Carolina, you have the choice.  When you want to eat in, all four rooms have kitchens stocked with basic cookware, glasses, dishes and utensils.  We also provide a complimentary continental breakfast.  When you want to dine out, the closest restaurant is just a short stroll down the beach.  (Click here for more information on the kitchens and on Xcalak restaurants.

Each Casa Carolina guest room has a private kitchenAll rooms in this self-sufficient Xcalak hotel have solar-powered electricity, with a back-up generator.  We provide daily housekeeping.  Electricity and hot water are available 24 hours a day.  The bathrooms and all floors are fully tiled with Mexican ceramic tile.  For those rare occasions when the breeze in Xcalak isn’t enough to cool you, each room has a ceiling fan.

Dive, Snorkel, Explore and Relax at Casa Carolina

The best of Xcalak and the Yucatan - palm trees on a sandy beach at Casa CarolinaYou don’t have to be a diver to enjoy this Xcalak hotel and resort.  You just have to enjoy the sun, the turquoise sea, and the tranquility you may never have experienced before.

Snorkeling inside the world’s second longest barrier reef will enable you to see many of the species the divers see, such as lobsters, rays, puffer fish, and parrotfish. These are just a sampling of what you might see on any given day. There are too many species of colorful tropical fish to list!

If you would rather stay out of the water, swing in a hammock and catch up on your reading.  Watch the birds glide by. Start to notice the hermit crabs.

A day trip to the ruins at Kohunlich can be managed easily.  The Temple of the Masks is unlike anything else you’ve seen!  And Chacchoben is even closer.  If you have traveled in the Yucatan at all, even if you have only driven down from Cancun, your interest in Mayan history probably has been piqued.  Bob and Caroline have an extensive library of Mayan history. If they don’t know the answers to your questions, you’re welcome to continue your search in their books.

Ah, but if you’re a diver… Click here for SCUBA information and a tour of The NAUI Training Center at Casa Carolina.

Xcalak isn’t the place where everyone you know has been on vacation.  But it just might be the place you don’t ever want to leave.
